Hon. Robinson Ewoh has questioned Nyesom Wike’s commitment to development, highlighting the stark contrast between Wike’s political power and the conditions in his community. He pointed out that despite Wike’s influential position, his family and community lack basic resources, with no good roads, primary schools, or health centers available.
He emphasized that true leadership should begin at home, suggesting that if Wike cannot uplift his own community, he is unlikely to positively impact others. Ewoh’s remarks challenge the rationale behind Wike’s quest for power, calling into question the effectiveness of his leadership.
He said in an interview with Symfoni, “If you look at Wike’s background, his father had two wives, and he has siblings. As we speak, none of them can produce one million naira from anywhere. In Wike’s own community, there are no good roads, no primary school, no health center—nothing. So, what is all this noise about power for if you can’t even help your people? Charity, they say, begins at home. If you can’t develop your own community, how can you help others?”
