Masked Armed Officers Take Over Federal High Court Ahead Of Nnamdi Kanu’s Trial
The Nigerian government has deployed operatives of the Department of State Services (DSS) to the premises of the Federal High Court, Maitama in Abuja, ahead of the resumption of Nnamdi Kanu’s trial as the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB.
The IPOB leader is facing nine accusations, including terrorism and treasonable crime, before Justice Binta Nyako Federal High Court in Abuja.
A detachment of hooded armed officers with motorbikes and cars was spotted stationed outside the Federal High Court’s entrance, prohibiting human and vehicular movement into the area.
Abubakar Malami, the Attorney-General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, had already urged IPOB members not to attend the Court hearing on Monday.
People in other hotels in the region are also being barred from entering and exiting since the cops insisted that they were conducting a special operation in the area and pleaded for their patience.
