Edo North women demand palliative funds from Oshiomhole

Women groups from Edo North have demanded that former Governor Adams Oshiomhole return palliative funds meant for them that he misappropriated.

The Federal Government had allocated N3 billion in aid for the senatorial district, intended for palliative measures to alleviate economic hardship.

The women allege that Oshiomhole who is the senator representing the district has diverted the funds, which were meant to provide essential relief.

Instead of utilizing the money as intended, they claim he is now planning to distribute rice, tomato paste, and cash in a bid to influence votes and garner political support ahead of the Edo governorship election.

The call for accountability comes amid growing concerns about the integrity of palliative distribution and the use of funds for political gain.

The women said they have been frustrated with Oshionhole’s unmet promises and his misuse of government resources since he was elected senator.

Oshiomhole has not yet responded to the allegations, but sources say his media aides are embarrassed as the senator was warned to distribute the palliatives earlier.

The situation is to have caused ripples in the camp of the former governor as political commentators have begun scrutinizing his handling of the palliative funds.
