BREAKING: Labour Union Calls Off Strike
The Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) and the Trade Union Congress (TUC) have called off their industrial action over a lack of consensus on a new minimum wage and the hike in electricity tariff.
The TUC president Festus Osifo said this on Tuesday in Abuja after a joint extraordinary national executive council meeting of the unions. A communique will be issued shortly, the labour chief said.
“The NLC and TUC are going to relax the strike and see what happens in the next one week with negotiations with FG,” another source noted.
“We’re just doing communique but it will be released after the meeting with the government team,” another senior official confirmed.
