BREAKING: Jubilation as Nigerian governor announces N150k Christmas bonus for workers

Governor Francis Nwifuru of Ebonyi has announced that every worker in the state will get ₦150,000 Christmas bonus.

This was confirmed by Monday Uzor, the governor’s chief press secretary, in a Facebook post yesterday.

Uzor further disclosed that the workers should be expecting alerts of the bonuses on Tuesday, December 17, 2024.

The governor’s aide noted that the move demonstrated Nwifuru’s commitment to workers’ welfare, adding that the previous year’s bonus was ₦100,000.

This increase demonstrates the governor’s dedication to improving the lives of state workers. The bonus is a welcome surprise for the workers, who will undoubtedly appreciate the extra financial support during the holiday season.

Meanwhile, the Ebonyi State government has commenced the full implementation of the new minimum wage act.

This move exceeds the minimum wage of ₦70,000, with an additional ₦5,000 for Ebonyi workers.
