Abimboye applauds Adeleke for visiting Erin Ijesha waterfalls amid public concerns

Michael Abimboye, a Nigerian political communication consultant and journalist, has applauded Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke for his surprise visit to Erin Ijesha Waterfalls on Wednesday.

The governor’s visit comes amid recent outcry and concerns raised by tourists to the tourist centre. Sharing a video on X on Wednesday, Bamikole Omishore, Special Adviser to Osun Governor on Sustainable Development Goals and Multilateral Relations, said Adeleke’s visit was aimed at conducting an on-the-spot assessment of the site.

“Governor Ademola Adeleke paid a surprise visit to Erin Ijesha Waterfalls on Wednesday, August 14, 2024, for an on-the-spot assessment.”

In the video, Adeleke, who was at the site, pleaded with youths to “cooperate with us,” adding that there will be separate meetings with the community and investors to ensure “this place is functioning well.”

Reacting to this development, Abimboye, in a statement personally signed on Thursday, said Adeleke’s visit shows that the Osun government is ready to harness the full potential of the waterfall.

“The governor’s visit shows that the governor is interested in the plight of the people and development of the state,” Abimboye said.

“I am happy as an indigene of the state and particularly as a young Nigerian who appreciates the development Osun has witnessed in the last few years of Adeleke reign. I am optimistic that his visit would lead to good infrastructure development that will make leisure and business grow at Erin-Ijesha waterfall. It will also attract traffic and boost the economy of the state.”

Abimboye, however, urged sons and daughters of the tate to continue to support the governor’s strides towards leading Osun to a promised land and a peaceful environment for all and sundry.
